“A bird flies over the Hagia Sophia Mosque at dawn in Istanbul.”
I captured this image just before the new year, in the last days of December 2020. I’ve photographed this place many times over the past decade but these are my first images of Hagia Sophia as a mosque. All of my images pre-2020 are of Hagia Sophia “Museum.” Now, after the re-conversion back to a mosque my captions read “mosque.”
